The gem is a stunning 5mm moissanite. The main difference between moissanite and cubic zirconia lies in their physical properties and appearance. Moissanite is harder, more durable, and offers greater brilliance, making it suitable for long-term wear. It has the closest physical properties to a diamond. Moissanite is not a synthetic diamond. Synthetic diamonds can be produced in large quantities, but moissanite can't.
I chose this gem because I wanted something really sparkly to contrast with the oxidized silver. It's so flashy that taking proper pictures is difficult! They're always a little blurry.
